How to Reset Your Gmail password?
Step 1: Go to https://www.gmail.com/ and click on Sign In at the top right.
Step 2: Enter your phone number or email address and click Next.
Step 3: Click on Forgot Password.
Step 4: Enter the last password you remember and click Next.
If you do not remember your old password, you need to click on “Try another way.” Here, you may then be asked to provide your phone number or email address to verify your identity and set a new password.
How to Reset Your Gmail Password Using Your Mobile Number?
Step 1. Select Text or Call.
Step 2. Google will send a one-time verification code to your registered phone number via SMS text message or phone call.
Step 3. You need to enter the code in the empty space column and click Next.
Step 4. Now enter a new password twice to make sure you have entered it correctly and tap Change Password.
Step 5. Alternatively, if you cannot access your phone number, you can click I don’t have my phone.
How to Reset Your Gmail Password Using Your Alternate Email Address?
Step 1. Type your recovery email address and click Send.
Step 2. A verification email has been sent to your recovery email address.
Step 3. You will need to open the email Google sent you for the code, enter it in the box, and click Next.
Step 4. Enter your new password twice and tap “Change Password.”
How to Reset Your Gmail Password Without A Recovery Phone Number Or Email Address?
If you cannot access an alternate email address or phone number, click “I don’t have my phone” or “try another method.”
Gmail may ask you a few questions to verify that you are the owner of the account. You will have to enter your answer and click Next or try another way until you come across a question that you can answer.
Then follow the on-screen options on how to reset Gmail password. You may need to provide another email address so that Google can contact you after reviewing your request. Google will contact you in 3 to 5 business days.
Note that changing your Gmail password will log you out from all active sessions/ devices. Moreover, you will not be able to use them unless you log in again using your updated Gmail password. So, it is useful when you forget to log out from a device.
